The annual Redwood City 4th of July Parade in downtown is the largest Independence Day parade in Northern California, attracting thousands of spectators. It brings entries from across the state. Most of the budget for the Parade is used for cash awards to participants, of which many winners are from Redwood City.
The parade starts promptly at 10 a.m. on July 4th. You will know it’s time when you hear the cannon!
10:00 am – Parade
11:00 – 4th of July Festival
9:30 pm – Firework Show
Winding its way through historic Downtown Redwood City, check out where you can see it 1.3 mile route.
Immediately after the parade, attend the 4th of July Festival, filled with arts and craft booths, food and beverage stations, chalk art, kid’s area and entertainment for the thousands of people that attend the festival.
End your 4th of July celebration with fireworks over the Port of Redwood City. The fireworks extravaganza will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. and can be seen from all over the mid-Peninsula.
There is ample street parking around the parade route. Please do not park in the Kaiser Permanente Emergency Department parking lot.
